and they were too cute to pass up... so i drew one
....... i hope i win cus im getting way to attached to this cutie
I named him Livius, aka Livy
Livius was from a proud family of harpies, feared throughout the villages that rest at the feet of their mountains. He was very content with his life, terrorizing villagers, feeding on their livestock, destroying their crops, and sometimes even stealing their lovely daughters. But even more than these things, he loved taking the form of a human, playing tricks, and causing disasters. And most of all, he loved stealing shiny things.
He seemed to have quite a weakness for shiny things, as a matter of fact (which the other harpies enjoyed pointing out, in a condescending tone). Once he saw a shiny thing that he liked, he just had to have it, regardless of the risk. Fortunately for him, he was an expert thief and con artist. Unfortunately for him, he underestimated the wrath of an angry rich merchant who wanted his entire stock of gold vases back.
Most of the other harpies blamed Livius for the destruction of their home, or at least they would have, had they all not been slaughtered by the brave (and well paid) warriors hired by the merchant to retrieve his merchandise. Livy was the only survivor or his clan, as he had been disguised as a human, swindling a jeweled necklace off a well-to-do lady at the time. With his clan dead, and angry mobs looking for any surviving harpy, Levy fled to a larger city where he could more easily blend in, and no angry mobs were looking to kill him.
He now sells potions and charms (all of which are a sham), and is almost always disguised as a human. He's a little more cautious about what he steals now. But only a little.
